* Руслан Шостак, президент корпорації TERWIN, засновник EVA і VARUS;
* Юлія Свириденко, президентка бізнес-школи KSE;
* Домінікас Тучкус, інвестиційний директор Amber Infrastructure Fund;

UK Export Finance.

The 12th Kyiv International Economic Forum is set for October 26, concentrating on business and economic resilience in the face of emerging challenges.
On October 26, Kyiv is set to welcome the 12th Kyiv International Economic Forum (KIEF), which will gather over 500 attendees, including business leaders and executives from both Ukrainian and global firms, as well as government representatives, investors, diplomats, and industry specialists. The theme for this year's event, "People. Business. Economy. What's Next?", will steer conversations focused on strategies for businesses and Ukraine's economy to navigate increasing challenges, adjust to evolving circumstances, and foster future growth.
As Russia's large-scale invasion enters its fifth year, Ukraine's economy is under increasing strain. Ongoing Russian assaults are aimed at vital industrial sites, energy networks, ports, railways, logistics centers, and other essential components for business operations. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports that the direct damages from these attacks could amount to around $10 billion each year. Coupled with the blockade of maritime ports, these setbacks are projected to result in a loss of approximately 1.5 percentage points from Ukraine's GDP in 2026.
In its October forecast, the World Bank anticipates that Ukraine's economic expansion will decelerate to 1.2% by 2026 and only rise to 1.5% in 2027 if fighting persists. Previously, the Bank had estimated a growth rate of 4% for 2027, contingent on the cessation of hostilities by the end of 2026.
"Although earlier conversations centered on rebuilding Ukraine, the current emphasis is on enhancing economic resilience in the present moment. Companies require strategies that will safeguard their assets, sustain production, and enable ongoing investment, even in the midst of conflict," states Vasyl Khmelnytskyi, the initiator of KIEF and founder of UFuture holding.
Enrollment of Participants
KIEF 2026 is set to host 14 insightful panel discussions focused on tackling the critical challenges confronting Ukraine's economy. The agenda will cover essential subjects such as safeguarding business infrastructures, sustaining operations amid air raid warnings, decentralizing logistics and energy distribution, ensuring dependable communication channels, securing insurance for war-related risks, obtaining compensation for lost assets, navigating financial access, and preserving macroeconomic stability.
Discussions will also explore how Ukraine can adapt its industrial development strategy and energy policy to new realities, redefine national economic priorities, strengthen international cooperation, and advance European integration amid emerging challenges. Special attention will go to frontline cities and the practical solutions they have already implemented to keep their economies functioning.
The speakers who have been officially announced for the forum are:
* Oleksandr Komarov, CEO and President of Kyivstar Group;
Ruslan Shostak serves as the President of TERWIN Corporation and is the visionary behind both EVA and Varus.
* Francis Malige serves as the Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Yuliia Svyrydenko serves as the President of KSE Business School.
Vyacheslav Klymov, one of the co-founders of NOVA Group;
* Dominykas Tuckus serves as the Managing Director of the Amber Infrastructure Fund.
* Igor Nikonov, the visionary behind the Ukrainian development firm KAN Development;
* Tomas Fiala, the visionary behind Dragon Capital;
Inga Andreieva serves as the Country Manager for Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova.
* David Godfrey, Board Member at British-Ukrainian Economic Future and former Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF), holds the honor of CBE.
Ukraine's economy has proven its resilience in the face of significant challenges. In 2022, after the Kremenchuk oil refinery was destroyed and fuel shortages ensued, the nation swiftly restructured its fuel supply networks. Concurrently, many businesses moved from frontline zones to more secure locations further inland.
In 2023, Ukraine established a new maritime route due to the obstruction of conventional shipping lanes. In response to extensive assaults on the power infrastructure in the previous year, both the government and businesses hastened efforts to advance decentralized energy production.
